Boosted EARN Payout Terms

Version 2.0 · Last updated and effective: not yet in effect

These payout terms are not in effect yet. Until they are, the payout sections of the Boosted EARN Terms and Boosted Ambassador Terms apply.

These Payout Terms apply to everything you earn through Boosted EARN and the Boosted Ambassador program. They replace the payout sections of the Boosted EARN Terms and the Boosted Ambassador Terms. Boosted is operated by Settlr LLC ("Boosted", "we", "us").

1. One payout account per person

You have one payout account with Boosted. It covers everything you earn through Boosted EARN and the Boosted Ambassador program. You verify once, and both programs pay to the same payout method.

2. Verifying your identity

Before you can add a payout method or withdraw, you must verify your identity with our verification partner, Stripe. Verification uses a government-issued photo ID and a selfie. You must be at least 18 years old.

Stripe checks and stores your ID images. Settlr LLC keeps only the result: whether you were verified, your verified legal name, your date of birth, your country, and the reference number of the check. We do not receive or keep images of your ID.

If you change your payout details, we will ask you to confirm your identity again with a new selfie check. We may also ask you to verify again at any time to keep payouts safe.

3. Taxes

You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn through Boosted, in every country where you owe them.

Payouts through Stripe Connect. Where your payout goes through Stripe Connect, Stripe collects your tax information — Form W-9 if you are a United States person, or Form W-8 (for example W-8BEN) if you are not — and issues the tax forms required for eligible United States members (Form 1099-NEC or Form 1099-K, as applicable).

Members outside the United States may be subject to tax withholding and to reporting on Form 1042-S where the law requires it.

Other payout methods. For payouts by bank transfer or PayPal (outside Stripe Connect), Boosted collects your tax form in the app before you can add a payout method: Form W-9 if you are a United States person, or Form W-8BEN otherwise, including the tax identification number issued by your country of residence (for example, your Tax Registration Number (TRN) in Jamaica). You certify that the information is correct by signing electronically with your verified legal name.

4. How you get paid

The payout methods available depend on your country:

The name on your payout account must match your verified legal name. Bank and tax numbers are encrypted, and only the last 4 digits are shown in the app.

5. Qualifying to withdraw

You can withdraw from a program once all of the following are true:

  1. Your identity is verified.
  2. Your tax form is on file.
  3. Your payout method is linked.
  4. EARN: your posts have received Boosts from at least 5 different people. Boosts from you, and from accounts we reasonably believe are linked to you or are controlled by the same person, do not count, and linked accounts count as one person.
Ambassador: at least 1 account you referred has verified its identity and is earning through Boosted EARN.
  5. EARN: you are the verified owner of the page the earnings belong to (see section 11).
  6. Your account is in good standing. It is not suspended, frozen, or under review, and it has no unresolved issues or disputes.
  7. You have accepted the current version of these Terms (see section 10).
  8. 30 days after you are verified and approved. At least 30 days have passed since your identity was verified and, for EARN, since we approved you as the owner of your page — whichever happened later.
  9. Your first payout only: 30 days after your first earnings. Before your first withdrawal, at least 30 days must also have passed since the first earnings were credited to your account. After your first payout, only the normal timing in section 6 applies.

Earnings still build up while you qualify. The app shows which steps are left, and the date your payouts become available.

6. When earnings become available

Each earning is Pending for 14 days from the date of the Boost that produced it. After that, it becomes Available to withdraw.

7. Withdrawals

8. Refunds, disputes, chargebacks and negative balances

Unpaid earnings. If a Boost is refunded, disputed, charged back, or reversed for any reason, we may reverse the earnings from that Boost at any time while they are still unpaid (Pending or Available).

Earnings already paid out. If the Boost is refunded, disputed, charged back, or reversed after its earnings were paid to you, the amount is taken back from your balance, and your balance can become negative.

How a negative balance is recovered.

  1. Automatically, from your future earnings. New earnings are applied to the negative balance first. You cannot withdraw while your balance is negative.
  2. After 90 days. If your balance is still negative 90 days after it first became negative, Settlr LLC may send you an invoice for the amount owed and may pursue recovery as permitted by law.

9. Our rights

We may delay, hold, or decline a withdrawal, freeze payouts, or adjust your balance if we reasonably suspect fraud, manipulation (including self-boosting or boosting through linked accounts), impersonation, a breach of these Terms, or an error. Every adjustment is recorded with a reason. You can ask us about any entry in your earnings history.

10. Changes to these Terms

11. Pages and page ownership

Anyone can create a page. Artists, creators, brands, businesses, venues and promoters can create a page on Boosted. A new page is live right away and is shown as "Unofficial" until it is verified.

Only the verified owner can withdraw a page's earnings. To withdraw EARN earnings from a page, you must be its verified owner: your identity is verified (section 2) and you have proven the page is yours — for example with documents we review, a vouch from a Boosted Trusted partner that we review, or (when available) by signing in to the page's Instagram account. Anyone can run an unverified page, but its earnings stay locked until the page is verified for the person who runs it.

Protected names. Some names belong to well-known artists, brands, companies and public figures. A new page using one of these names (or a very similar name or handle) goes to review by Boosted before it goes live. You can speed this up by proving ownership right away.

Disputes. If someone tells us that a page is theirs, we review the request. While the review is open, withdrawals of that page's earnings are frozen for everyone; earnings keep building. The current manager is not told who made the request. Withdrawals resume when we resolve the dispute.

Grace period at launch. Pages that are already enrolled in Boosted EARN when page verification starts get a 30-day grace period: their earnings can still be withdrawn as before during those 30 days, so the owner has time to verify the page.

False claims and impersonation. If you claim a page that isn't yours, impersonate an artist, brand, company or person, or give us false proof, we may remove the page or your access to it, and you forfeit earnings tied to that page. We may also suspend your account.
